(VOVworld) - Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh has noted that Vietnam treasures ties with Spain and wants to increase cooperation with Spain, especially in defence, to get on a par with their strategic partnership. Vinh made the statement at Tuesday’s talks with Spanish Secretary of State for Defence Pedro Argüelles Salaverría during Vinh’s just-concluded 3-day trip to Spain at Salaverría’s invitation.

Vinh suggested that both sides expand their defence cooperation in accordance with the 2010 MoU by stepping up delegation exchanges and collaboration among strategic research institutes to share experience in UN peace-keeping activities, bomb and mine clearance, and defense industry development.
