Vietnam, Spain target trade turnover of 5 billion USD
(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has suggested the relevant agencies of Vietnam and Spain work closely, make good use of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), and strive to increase two-way trade turnover to 5 billion USD in the next 2-3 years.

Prime Minister Chinh met with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez Castejón on Wednesday within the framework of the ASEAN-EU Commemorative Summit marking 45 years of diplomatic ties in Brussels.
He stressed the need to accelerate the implementation of projects on development cooperation, continue to improve the efficiency of cooperation in science and technology, response to climate change, national defense and environment. PM Chinh suggested that Spain have an active voice so that the EU can soon remove the IUU "yellow card" warning against Vietnamese aquatic products.
PM Castejón pledged that Spain, as the rotating presidency of the EU in the last 6 months of 2023, will push EU countries to ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA). He cordially invited Vietnam to join the International Drought Resilience Alliance initiated by Spain and Senegal and called for strengthened bilateral and multilateral cooperation in digital transformation and renewable energy.
The Spanish PM said he hopes to visit Vietnam soon and cordially invited Prime Minister Chinh to visit Spain at an appropriate time.
