Vietnam supports APEC leaders’ joint statement on vision for APEC post-2020
(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Phạm Bình Minh has called on members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) to uphold the spirit of solidarity and responsibility to help the region meet challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic and continue leading the global economic recovery.

Mr. Minh, who is also Vietnam’s Minister of Foreign Affairs was speaking at the virtual 31st APEC Ministerial Meeting on Monday, chaired by Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry Mohamed Azmin Ali.
The meeting approved a joint statement affirming the determination of the 21 APEC member economies to continue building a self-reliant and prosperous Asia-Pacific region.
“Vietnam fully supports the adoption of the APEC leaders’ declaration on the post-2020 vision that sets the future of our region. It’s such an ambitious and actual oriented vision. It continues to strategically position APEC as a premier forum for regional economic cooperation and a key drive for building a peaceful, connected, resilient, and innovative Asia-Pacific community,” said Deputy PM Minh.
