(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam always attaches great importance to strengthening and advancing its long-term sustainable development partnership with Sweden, considering Sweden one of Vietnam’s leading partners in Northern Europe, said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang.

During her two-day working trip to Sweden on May 20-21, Ms. Hang held working sessions with Swedish State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Dag Hartelius, Director General for Trade Policy Camilla Melander, Director General for Global Affairs Mikael Lindvall, and head of the Swedish Parliament’s International Department Anna-Karin Hedström.
At the meetings, Ms Hang proposed that the two countries enhance delegation exchanges at all levels and promote cooperation through Party, State, National Assembly, and Government channels to enhance political trust and create momentum for comprehensive cooperation.
Sweden’s State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Dag Hartelius said that Sweden wishes to further develop its partnership with Vietnam based on their strong existing foundation.
He urged the two countries to strengthen cooperation in trade and investment, science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, culture, and education.
