Vietnam targets 3rd place at Sea Games 27

(VOVworld) – Vietnam will strive to achieve 76 gold medals to finish in the top 3 at the upcoming 27th Southeast Asian Games (Sea Games 27). The figures were announced by Lam Quang Thanh, Head of the Vietnamese delegation, at a press conference on Thursday after coming back from a preparatory meeting in Myanmar.

Sea Games 27, drawing 11 sports delegations, will take place between December 1st and 22nd in Myanmar. Vietnam is expected to send more than 500 athletes to compete in 29 out of 33 events. Despite the target of 76 gold medals, Thanh said it would still be a success if Vietnamese competitors could bring home 70 gold medals.
