(VOVworld) – A ceremony was held in Hanoi on Thursday to send off Vietnamese athletes participating in the 5^th Southeast Asian Student Sports Festival. At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Tran Quang Quy wished the event great success and expressed his hope that Vietnamese athletes will bring the image of hospitable Vietnam to international friends. He encouraged Vietnamese students to try hard to gain the best results.

The week-long sports event will open this Sunday in Hanoi, drawing 1,500 athletes across the region. 248 Vietnamese students will compete in all 9 categories of the tournament.
