Vietnam values its partnership with Republic of Korea

(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the Party, State and People of Vietnam always value and wish to join the Government and people of the Republic of Korea in deepening the two countries’ Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

At a reception for Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Young Sam in Hanoi on Monday, National Assembly Chairman Man suggested that the two sides increase exchanges of high-level delegations and all-level delegations, as well as friendship parliamentary groups in law making and oversight.

The Republic of Korea is now Vietnam's third largest trading partner, after China and the United States. Two-way trade turnover totaled 76 billion USD last year and reached nearly 40 billion USD in the first half of this year. The two countries aim to raise trade turnover to 100 billion USD by 2025 and 150 billion USD by 2030 in a balanced and sustainable direction.

Ambassador Choi emphasized that the Vietnam-Korea cooperation is at the best stage of development in the past 30 years, saying that he will make every effort to contribute to promoting relations. The Ambassador affirmed that the Korean Government and businesses are so interested in investment activities in Vietnam. He expressed his desire to cooperate closely with relevant Vietnamese agencies to implement cooperation agreements between the two countries.
