Addressing the function, Venezuelan Ambassador Jorge Rondón Uzcátegui said both nations will celebrate many milestone events this year including the late Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez’s visit to Vietnam 8 years ago. The Ambassador expressed his belief that strategic relations between Vietnam and Venezuela will be steadfast:
“Venezuela and Vietnam have established a firm relationship because they share similarities in the cause to protect national freedom, seek the best way to achieve their peoples’ prosperity, and fight for a peaceful, equitable, and civilized world. Over the past 25 years, we have established a mutually beneficial co-operation through high level delegation exchanges and signing over 50 bi-lateral agreements in different areas.”
Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Hà Kim Ngọc offered best wishes to the Venezuelan Ambassador and people, praising Venezuela’s recent achievements. He said he hopes the Venezuelan people will obtain even greater achievements in national development and defense.
