Vietnam vows to build drug free region

(VOVWORLD) - Representatives from countries and organizations have agreed to intensify large-scale crackdowns on drug-related crimes, particularly in and around the Golden Triangle area.

During a ministerial conference in Hanoi on Tuesday, they also stressed the crucial role of information sharing and cooperation in the war on drugs. 

“I want to renew Vietnam’s commitment in cooperating with other countries and organizations in combating drug-related crimes. We are working hard to contribute to building a drug free region,” said Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh.

The conference on fighting illegal transnational drug activity was attended by delegates from Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, China, Myanmar, the US, Australia, the Philippnes, and the UN.
