At a reception in Ha Noi on Tuesday for Kuwaiti Minister of Oil and Electricity and Water Khaled Ali Al Fadhel, the PM noted that two-way trade totaled close to 2.7 billion USD last year. He applauded bilateral cooperation in oil and gas, particularly the Nghi Sơn oil refinery and petrochemical plant invested by Việt Nam, Japan and Kuwait, which was put into commercial operation last year. Mr. Phuc said Vietnam always creates favourable conditions for investors but they must meet environmental requirements and abide by Vietnamese law. He asked Kuwait to work closely with Vietnam in the near future.
Mr. Al Fadhel said Kuwaiti investors will continue to support the Nghi Sơn project. Kuwait appreciates the Asian market, including Vietnam, he said, and hopes the project will be a symbol of successful investment in Asia.
