Tourism revenue in the first nine months of this year is estimated at 1.84 billion USD, up 16.7% over the same period last year.

South Korea remained Vietnam's largest market in the reviewed period with 3.3 million visits (26.5%), followed by China reaching 2.7 million visits (21.3%). These two markets contributed 48% of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam. In the top 10 largest markets for Vietnamese tourism were also Australia, India, Cambodia and Thailand.

The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism assessed that the majority of Vietnam’s international tourist markets have completely recovered, some markets even increased sharply compared to 2019, the time before the Covid-19 outbreak.

It projected that international visitors to Vietnam will continue to grow dramatically in the last three months of the year and the tourism industry will achieve this year's goal of welcoming 17-18 million foreign visitors.
