The centre will be established according to an agreement signed by the two countries’ Prime Ministers in 2019 to improve capacity for Vietnamese leaders and managers to meet the requirement of national development and global integration. It also aims to strengthen mutual understanding and deepen the fruitful partnership between the two countries.

The centre will be jointly operated by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through the Aus4Skills Programme.

Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Robyn Mudie said that the centre’s establishment is an important initiative, a symbol of mutual trust, and a priority in the development partnership between the two countries.
