Vietnamese athletes depart for the 2025 Asian Youth Games

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese sports delegation, consisting of 75 members, including 50 athletes, departed for Bahrain on Monday to compete in the 2025 Asian Youth Games.

From Wednesday to next Thursday, the Vietnamese athletes will compete in 11 out of 28 sports, including athletics, badminton, jujitsu, boxing, judo, wrestling, weightlifting, taekwondo, golf, cycling, and Muay Thai.

Held every four years, the Asian Youth Games nurture young sports talents and evaluate how countries invest in their next generation of athletes.

In its participation history, Vietnam’s best performance was recorded at the 2013 Games, where the country won five gold medals with Nguyen Thi Anh Vien claiming three golds in swimming, Ly Hoang Nam winning one gold in tennis, and Nguyen Thi Truc Mai earning one gold in athletics.
