(VOVWORLD) - The traditional friendship between Vietnam and Lithuania has always been preserved, nurtured, and developed in all aspects, President Luong Cuong said while hosting a State banquet in Hanoi on Thursday in honor of visiting Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda.

President Cuong said President Nauseda's visit is a historic milestone, opening up new cooperation opportunities and demonstrating the growing trust and connection between the two countries.
"The President and I had a very productive meeting. We agreed on major orientations and specific measures to boost bilateral cooperation. I believe that on the foundation of a good traditional friendship and the determination and joint efforts of the leaders and people of the two countries, we will advance confidently on a path of cooperation and sustainable development. I hope the Vietnam-Lithuania relationship will continue to grow, and that the Lithuanian people will continue to win great victories in the cause of national development,” said President Cuong.
President Nauseda said his visit is an opportunity for both sides to develop their great potential for cooperation in security, energy, transportation, logistics, and agriculture. He said he hopes the two countries will continue to cooperate closely and contribute to world peace and stability.
On Thursday evening, President Nauseda left Hanoi, concluding his two-day official visit to Vietnam.
