Vietnam’s nine-month FDI attraction up 7.7%

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam attracted more than 20 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) from the beginning of this year to September 20, up 7.7%, according to the Foreign Investment Agency of the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

In the reviewed period, foreign investors invested in 18 of 21 national economic sectors. The manufacturing and processing sector continued to lead in FDI attraction, with more than 14 billion USD, accounting for 69% of total registered investment capital.

The manufacturing and processing sector also stands out in terms of new projects, making up nearly 33% of the total new projects, and 56% of all capital adjustment projects. In capital contributions, the wholesale and retail sector commanded a 41.4% share.
