Vietnam’s top leader honored with Order of Jose Marti
(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary and President To Lam was decorated with the Order of Jose Marti, the highest honor of the Cuban Party and State, at Thursday’s ceremony in Havana chaired by First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez.

The order acknowledges the Vietnamese leader’s contributions to solidarity, friendship, and faithful relations between the two Parties, States, and peoples.
Mr. Lam, who is on a state visit to Cuba, said that Vietnam sincerely wishes to improve comprehensive cooperation with Cuba. "Vietnam highly values Cuban leaders’ spirit of moving towards a new phase of cooperation with Vietnam and accompanying Vietnam in the development process."
He reiterated the Vietnamese Party, State, and people’s consistent stance of staying united with and supporting the heroic Cuban people’s just struggle.
"I believe that the Cuban people, under the Communist Party of Cuba’s leadership, will definitely surmount every challenge, firmly protect their revolutionary achievements, and reap even greater victories in their revolutionary cause for the goal of building prosperous and sustainable socialism,” said the Vietnamese top leader.
