Vietnam’s trade surplus hits 4 billion USD in 8 months
(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam continued to enjoy a trade surplus of nearly 4 billion USD in the past 8 months, while the total export turnover of goods reached more than 250 billion USD, an increase of more than 17% compared to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. It said that given inflation and price hike in many parts of the world, Vietnam's foreign trade results were remarkable.
In the past 8 months, there have been 30 items with export turnover of over 1 billion USD, accounting for nearly 92% of total export turnover. These products have gradually dominated in markets which have signed a Free Trade Agreement with Vietnam. The Ministry of Industry and Trade said Vietnam has had a trade surplus for 3 consecutive months and the export outlook in the third quarter and by the end of the year is considered to be positive. Market connection channels from localities and overseas trade agencies are being promoted to help enterprises proactively plan production and respond flexibly to market fluctuations, the Ministry said.
