Villagers hardest hit by typhoon Yagi given Tet gifts
(VOVWORLD) - A program entitled “Border guard spring warms villagers’ hearts” was held on Friday in Lao Cai province’s border communes of A Lu and Y Ty, which were among the hardest hit villages by typhoon Yagi last September.

The program comprised of free medical examination and medicine distribution, charity Tet market, giving 1,000 gift sets to disadvantaged households and students who have overcome their economic difficulties to study well. Each gift set is worth 20 USD.

On Thursday and Friday, the “Tet for children” program took place in Cu Ne commune, Dak Lak province.
Y Phi Kpa, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Cư Né commune, said, “Various activities were held during the program, including Chung cake making, learning the Ede ethnic culture, art performance, campfire lighting, and gift giving to local disadvantaged students.”
On this occasion, the community volunteer group surveyed the school in Cu Ne commune to outline a repair plan, helping the students feel secure going to school.
