Vu Lan ceremony spreads Buddhism' filial piety

(VOVWORLD) - The "Vu Lan – Filial Piety & the Nation 2024" program wrapped up with an art program on Saturday evening at the Opera House in Hanoi. This annual program has been organized by the Information and Communications Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha since 2014.

The Vu Lan program had two parts: humanitarian activities and art performances.

Under the program, multiple activities were held in Dien Bien province including a commemoration of martyrs at the A1 National Martyrs Cemetery, building canteens for Nam Ty school and Hua Thanh Primary School in Dien Bien district, digging water wells for the schools, giving gifts to students and people in Hua Thanh commune and officers and soldiers of Muong Pon Border Guard Station, and building compassionate houses for former youth volunteers.

The art program "Vu Lan – Filial Piety & the Nation 2024" conveyed gratitude and filial piety values to the community.
At the show, the Organizing Committee presented gifts of gratitude to the families of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and war invalids and martyrs.
