WHO warns there’s still a long way to go with COVID-19

(VOVWORLD) - The World Health Organization has warned countries to stay vigilant against COVID-19 because the crisis is not over and the coronavirus will likely be with us for a very long time.

The warning was issued by WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus at an online press briefing Wednesday in Geneva. Ghebreyesus noted progress in Western Europe but said some countries are still in the early stages of the epidemic and some that were affected early are now starting to see a resurgence of cases. The WHO chief said he hopes the US will soon resume its funding for the WHO for the sake of its own safety.
