This is the first multi-sectoral operation focused on reducing the number of food-insecure people in eastern and southern Africa, said Hafez Ghanem, World Bank Vice President for Eastern and Southern Africa. 30 million people in Madagascar and Ethiopia are facing food insecurity due to drought and will be the top priority of the first phase of the project.
