Xi Jinping hosts red-carpet welcome ceremony for To Lam in Beijing
(VOVWORLD) -General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of China Xi Jinping and his spouse hosted a grand welcome ceremony for General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of Vietnam To Lam and his spouse in Beijing on Monday morning.

Party General Secretary and President Xi invited his Vietnamese counterpart to ascend to the honorary podium. A military band played the national anthems of Vietnam and China. A 21-gun salute was fired in Tiananmen Square in honor of the Vietnamese guests.

The two leaders then inspected the guards of honor of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Chinese children in colorful costumes enthusiastically waved flags and flowers to welcome General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.
After the welcome ceremony, the two top leaders held talks.
