Thuy has donated blood 103 times, making her the most frequent blood donor in Bac Ninh province. Inspired by her example, many people in the local community have become role models themselves, giving 30 to 50 donations each and helping to spread the message “Donate blood to save lives – a noble act”.
“Every drop of blood we donate can help someone in need. Giving blood means I’m healthy enough to share, and that makes me happy. Each unit of blood can save up to 3 patients. I always think that, even if the recipient is not my relative, they’re still a fellow citizen,” said Thuy.
During the 2026 “Red Spring Festival” campaign, Thuy’s blood donation story helped spread a message of compassion, responsibility, and love.

“We highly appreciate the dedication of the donors. Ms. Thuy has spread her energy in the community. She regards blood donation as a normal activity and hopes others will do the same,” Le Thanh Hang of the Communications Department of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion said.
As the head of the Women’s Union, Thuy is always looking for ways to make the women’s movement more effective. She is focused on livelihoods and the legitimate rights and interests of women and children, especially those who are members of vulnerable groups.
Since 2006, Thuy has personally sponsored 12 orphans, including Dinh Thanh Hang, a sixthgrader whose mother has a congenital hearing and speech disability, and Dang Quang Huy, a third grader who lost his mother and comes from a disadvantaged family.
In addition, she supports dozens of orphans and women in difficult circumstances by coordinating with donors. She has also mobilized donations of clothing and other essentials to people in mountainous areas.
“Around us, there are still many people in difficult circumstances. At first, I chose to support orphans and elderly women living alone with no pension and in poor health. I sponsor them with my own salary, so the amount is not large, and I also buy health insurance for them. For the orphans I support, the material value may be modest, but it’s an important source of motivation,” Thuy said.
