Doan Van Thai, Vice President and Secretary General of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, said: “We will provide emergency aid to the locals first, then examine the situation and support their needs. The aids will be sent to 1,000 disaster-affected households.  Money is being sent to localities to buy clean water”.

In response, the Vietnam Red Cross Society and Red Crescent Societies have called on the world community to help Vietnam deal with the natural disasters. At present, 43 of 63 Vietnam’s provinces and cities are affected by drought.
