(VOVworld) - Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said amendments to the Criminal Code must be based on the new Constitution, especially in human rights protection, crime prevention and community involvement in crime combating.

In addressing a national online conference to review the implementation of the 1999 Criminal Code, Phuc asked the Ministry of Justice to collect appropriate recommendations to ensure the new amendment’s functionality and feasibility in the protection of political security and social order. The government will submit the amendment to the National Assembly next year.
