Speaking at the launch event on Saturday, Nguyen Thi Lam Giang, Deputy Head of the Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development, said the campaign is significant in improving the community’s awareness on climate change, energy saving, and environment protection.

Trinh Quoc Vu from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said the campaign has proved to be effective: “Businesses, individuals, and organizations have been more aware of energy saving, and environment protection. We are aiming at a society of green and sustainable development”.

The Earth Hour campaign is carried out in 63 cities and provinces throughout Vietnam. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to participate by turning off unnecessary electrical devices for one hour.
