(VOVworld) - The 3rd Inter-Ministerial Meeting of the Greater Mekong Sub-region  has opened in Ha Noi to consolidate regional efforts on anti-human trafficking. Speaking at the opening session on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the National Steering Committee on Anti-human Trafficking, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, said that Vietnam has efficiently joined regional efforts to combat human trafficking: “Vietnam appreciates member countries’ efforts and the secretariat as well as support from international organizations in anti-human trafficking. Vietnam commits to fulfill the joint declaration signed in Hanoi on ministerial initiatives on the prevention and fight against human trafficking.”

At the conference, officials from China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam signed the 2nd Joint Declaration on Ministerial Initiatives to fight human trafficking in the Greater Mekong Sub-region.
