Japan, Taiwan (China) and South Korea have received the highest number of Vietnamese workers. Some new markets have been recruiting more Vietnamese workers.

Pham Viet Huong, Deputy Director of the Department of Overseas Labour, said: “Besides the three markets of Japan, Taiwan (China) and South Korea that still account for a high proportion (over 90%), we are continuing to expand other markets, especially European countries. Businesses are approaching markets with aging populations which have demand for foreign workers.”

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs said 125,000 Vietnamese workers are scheduled to work abroad this year.
