The Prime Minister addressed the 16th Hai Phong City Party Congress on Wednesday attended by 350 delegates representing nearly 125,000 Party members of the city. He urged Hai Phong Party Committee, administration, and people to continue implementing the three pillars for development defined by the Congress for the next tenure: High-tech industry, maritime economy, sea port, and logistics, and tourism and trade.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said, “Hai Phong needs to have an innovative way to attract resources, including many large domestic and international enterprises and corporations coming to do business and invest in hi-tech development. Efforts should be made to attract foreign investment selectively and in line with the development of hi-tech eco-industrial parks, ensuring harmony between industry, services and environmental protection. The city needs to maximize its potentials and advantages, including domestic and foreign investment, develop the marine economy, and become a modern, prestigious, international commercial port city. In the future, Hai Phong will become a green, international tourist and service center with a variety of high-quality services, shopping, entertainment, and attractions.”
