Promoting Vietnam’s land and people in Argentina

(VOVworld) – An exhibition on Vietnam, its land and people to mark 40 years of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Argentina opened in the capital Buenos Aires on Thursday.

The exhibition was jointly organized by the Argentina-Vietnam Cultural Institute (ICAV), authorities from district 13 of Buenos Aires and the Vietnamese embassy. Vietnamese ambassador Nguyen Van Dao, ICAV’s President Poldi Sosa and Mayor of district 13 Gustavo Acevedo praised the development of relations between the two countries. They stressed the importance of cultural exchanges in raising mutual understanding between the two peoples and fostering bilateral cooperation. The exhibition features nearly 30 photos introducing the beautiful scenery and hospitable people of Vietnam as well as traditional costumes and folk paintings. Also on display are paintings of Vietnam by artist Maria Teresa Bobbio, who took part in the ceramic wall project to mark the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi. To mark the occasion, district 13 screened two films “Deserted Field” by director Hong Sen and “Don’t burn” by director Dang Nhat Minh.
