(VOVworld)- On Thursday, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam attended a conference reviewing Vietnam’s sports, culture, and tourist activities in 2016 and set out tasks for 2017.

Tourism needs to become Vietnam’s spearhead economic sector

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc praised the sector’s achievements in recent years. He also stressed the need to tap the country’s potential and mobilize the public to promote national cultural and traditional values  and develop tourism into Vietnam’s spearhead economic sector. The Prime Minister said:“It’s necessary to attract more visitors to Vietnam and get them to stay longer. We need to make them spend more money, and give them interesting stories to tell their friends and relatives. This is the way we will introduce Vietnam overseas. The last question we need to answer is how to encourage them to return to Vietnam as soon as possible.”
