UN praises Vietnam's contributions at international legal forums

(VOVWORLD) - The UN speaks highly of Vietnam's role and substantial contributions at international legal forums, said the Under-Secretary-General for Legal Affairs and Legal Counsel at a meeting with the Head of Vietnam’s permanent mission to the UN.

Ms. Elinor Hammarskjöld said she hopes that Vietnam will work further with the legal office and UN agencies in reforming and improving the efficiency of the UN system.
Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang highlighted Vietnam's consistent policy of upholding international law, adding Vietnam supports and commits to closely coordinating with the Under-Secretary-General, the UN legal office, and other member countries in ensuring the efficient operation of legal mechanisms, promoting discussions on codification and progressive development of international law within the framework of the United Nations.
On this occasion, the two sides had in-depth discussions on global and regional issues of mutual concerns.
