The WHO’s theme for World Health Day 2019 is “Universal Health Coverage: everyone, everywhere” to ensure that everyone can access healthcare services.
Vietnam intends to enhance primary healthcare by rallying social resources. Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien said: “Vietnam’s health sector has met 80% of people’s essential health treatment demand, which is relatively high in the region according to the WHO. Vietnam can produce many vaccines under the expanded vaccination program. 87.5% of the population have health insurance cards, which is higher than the target set by the National Assembly and the government.”
