(VOVworld) – The Yen Tu festival opened in Uong Bi township, Quang Ninh province on Sunday. The highlight of the festival is the inauguration of the statue of the King-turned monk Tran Nhan Tong.

The festival’s opening ceremony included art performances and a ceremony to pray for peace for the nation.

The organizing board presented 50 bronze drums and a set of 500 letters of Soul, Prosperity and Happiness in Vietnamese with the gold icon of King Tran Nhan Tong to outstanding individuals and organizations throughout the country.

The statue of King Tran Nhan Tong was recognized as a national record for being a whole-piece bronze statue.
