(VOVWORLD) -What happens when two young people from India take a spontaneous tour of a country they barely know? For Lakshya Jain and his friend Vishal Bhaiya, that simple decision took them on an unexpected journey, one filled with warmth, generosity, adventure, and moments they never imagined they would experience. What was meant to be a quick escape from their busy routines turned into seven unforgettable days that changed the way they saw Vietnam.

- Hello, everyone! My name is Lakshya Jain. I'm a certified public accountant of India, and I came to visit Vietnam for seven days, and the whole experience was immensely wonderful. Like I can't imagine that this country involved a lot of culture and a lot of religious aspects as well. So yeah, basically me and my big brother.
- Hello guys. So I am Vishal, and we both are from India. We both are working, actually in accounting and auditing, so it's not very interesting job. One day, we saw a reel on Instagram, and we thought, Vietnam is an interesting country. We actually have five days off this week, from first to fifth. So we were trying to go to a beach in India. But then we decided, like Vietnam has so much more to offer just than the beach. We decided to come here. We actually planned the entire trip in two weeks, like visa to plane, to our office, approvals, everything. We both are government employees, so it takes a lot of time to get approval from the authorities, actually, but luckily, we got it in two days.
Lakshya and Vishal, welcome to Vietnam! What surprises you most during your tour of Vietnam?
- Everything is so surprisingly beautiful, and the people are actually so so nice, like, I have a story about that. On our second day, we lost our phone in grab cab, actually, and we booked from that phone so we can't reach the driver. We can't reach grab because we didn't have the account that actually booked the grab cab. So there were people on the corner standing in front of the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh, and they were so nice. They were with us for almost one and half hour, actually, up until we got the police station. They dropped us to police station. And to our surprise, actually, this doesn't happen in India.

Wow! This is getting intense, almost like a movie plot unfolding in real life. What happened after that?
- Basically, the policeman was extremely nice here. They took us on their motorcycle and they were also searching with us, so that's a big part. And also we were checking all the CCTV cameras in the museum, and the policeman with us. They and the people were so helping after working hour. Actually, it was around 6.30 PM. We missed our flight to Da Nang. Actually, that day we were supposed to take a flight at 7.15 to Da Nang. We missed that so, but luckily, we got the phone back because, and only with the help of police, because we were so surprised that they were so effectively working. I mean, they were so honest. We didn't expect that much honesty, especially when there is language barrier.
Missing your flight after finally getting your phone back must have been chaotic, but you still made it to Da Nang in the end, right guys? Anything exciting there?
- Yeah! We came to Danang, and to our surprise, like we are both vegetarian. We can't eat meat. Yes, we can't eat eggs, so we have been to vegan diets our entire week. But the food is so delicious, so delicious. We told my friends that we were going to Vietnam. They said that the food was not actually Indian style food, and the kind of the spices were very different. But to our surprise, we were like, cleaning up the plates for entire week. We were so shocked, like, vegan food can be that good. We don't eat eggs and meat. But to our surprise, the food was amazing.

It's great to hear that the food made such a great impression on you.
- Vegetarian, really, you got so much variety. We have been seven days here, and we are eating like crazy. Like, every single time we go to a restaurant, we feel like we won't spend too much, but we have actually topped our card, our entire money goes on to food. It was amazing. And the hospitality too, like the people and the crew and staff in the restaurant is amazing. Like, they kind of, they handle their clients or customers, super amazing. We never gave tip in our life in India, because we don't have that culture. But here we are, like, from our heart, we feel like we should give something because he or she's so nice.

Sounds like Vietnam absolutely lived up to and maybe even went beyond what you hoped for!
- The people are actually very nice. The food is very nice. We decided to make five Instagram reels for each city. We have been to five cities, but now we have six reels for the food only because I have videos of so much food. I will post everything on Instagram.
VOVWorld: What began as a spontaneous holiday turned into a heartwarming adventure full of unexpected kindness, cultural beauty, and incredible cuisine. For Raksha and Vishal, Vietnam became more than just a travel destination, it became a reminder of how wonderful the world can be when people help one another without hesitation. As they return to India, they carry with them not only beautiful photos and reels but also a deep appreciation for Vietnam and its people. And perhaps, one day, they will return, not just as tourists, but as friends of the country that gave them a truly unforgettable experience.
