Vietnam’s navy modernized to better protect national sea and island sovereignty

(VOVWORLD) - The Navy held a conference to review 15 years of the Resolution on improvingtechnical management in the new situation. The delegates proposed solutions to improve the efficiency of technical management, the combat readiness of the Navy, and to meet defense tasks.

During the last 15 years , the Party Committees and Commands at all level have carried out a number of scientific projects and studies at the State, Defense Ministry, General Department of Technology, and local levels.

Many projects have won prestigious awards such as Nguyen Phan Vinh Award and Creative Youth Award in the Army. Since 2011,  the Naval Engineering Department has cooperated with more than 40 agencies to implement about 900 military studies.

The Navy has received of a large number of ships, vehicles, and aircrafts; organized training courses on new weapons and drills on live-fire missiles and torpedoes, and participated in the 21st International Army Games.

Admiral Nguyen Van Bong, Political Commissar of the Navy, urged agencies and units to continue to improve the  quality of technical work, meet requirements, and build an elite and modern naval engineering sector.
