(VOVWORLD) - Artisans and artists from 15 ethnic groups across Vietnam gathered at an exchange in Quang Nam province in June to perform rites for setting up a Neu pole. Village patriarch Bh’riu Po was responsible for the ritual of the Co Tu ethnic people.

(VOVWORLD) - 87-year-old Duong Van Ngo has worked as a public letter writer for 27 years at the Saigon Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh City. The last letter writer in the city, Ngo was recognized by the Vietnam Guinness Book of Records as the man who has spent the most time writing letters for those unable to write for themselves.

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese students won 4 gold and 1 silver medal at the 48th International Physics Olympiad this year. Nguyen The Quynh, a 12th grader from Vo Nguyen Giap Gifted High School in Quang Binh province won a gold medal for the second time.

(VOVWORLD) - A Vietnamese children’s ensemble led by Dang Chau Anh won gold medals at the International Choir Competition in Hoi An and the International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival in Germany in 2017. This marked a milestone in Chau Anh’s long-term plan to develop Vietnam’s choral activities, especially among children.

(VOVWORLD) - Kim Bong carpentry village is located in Cam Kim commune of Hoi An town beside the Thu Bon river. The 500-year-old village is renowned for its wood carving and sculpture. The traditional carpentry has been preserved by the village craftsmen, especially People’s Artisan Huynh Ri, who has restored ancient temples and pagodas in Quang Nam province.

(VOVWORLD) - Xuan Hoach is known as a veteran artist of Vietnamese folk music. Hoach is not only able to play traditional music, he also teaches music and crafts traditional musical instruments.

(VOVWORLD) - Ms. Tran Thi Hang and her family have been considered role models in the campaign to build new-style rural areas in Doan Dao commune, Hung Yen province. Hang is also a dedicated member of the local Women’s Association.

(VOVWORLD) - For more than 40 years book collector Vu Kim Dien has maintained a reading habit to enrich his knowledge. He also encourages other people to read books, inspiring their love of reading. VOV’s Thu Hang reports.

(VOVWORLD) - Neang Kunh Thia of An Giang province is known for her devotion to local music and art. Kunh Thia choreographs, stages, and performs musical theatre and Cham Rieng Cha Pay, a traditional folk music of the Khmer. VOV’s Ngoc Tuoi reports.

(VOVWORLD) - Journalist and author Mai Van Lang, who works at Radio the Voice of Vietnam, is a very successful writer of lyrics for folk songs and Cheo, Vietnam’s traditional opera. His lyrics are simple, but poetic, meaningful, and easy to remember. Lang was recently selected to represent VOV at a conference to honor 2017’s outstanding role models.
