Despite considerable reforms of its performance, the NA needs to improve its communication and make it more professional to improve democracy and transparency. Former Deputy Head of the NA’s Office Nguyen Sy Dung said: "Communications about the NA’s activities and its decisions play a very important role. Communications must be accurate and timely. If information is delivered after it’s spread on  social networks, the public will only follow social networks."

Former Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association Ho Quang Loi said: "The National Assembly is tasked to deliver the public’s aspiration and will. But it’s important to make the public understand and engage with the NA’s activities and turn meetings of the NA into meetings of the public."

At the seminar, Secretary General and Head of the NA Office Bui Van Cuong asked press agencies to improve the quality of communications about the NA’s activities and become policy communication channels to help the public better understand the NA’s operations.
