Dak Lak begins construction of houses for the disadvantaged

(VOVWORLD) - Dak Lak province has launched an initiative to build over 4,000 new homes for poor and near-poor households, ethnic minorities, and policy beneficiary families in response to the Prime Minister’s directive on eliminating temporary and dilapidated housing. The construction has started and will be completed by mid-August 2025.

Dak Lak will provide housing support to nearly 4,300 households at a total cost of more than 13 million USD. In the first two weeks of March the province began construction on 1,060 houses, which are expected to be completed next month, achieving 30% of the target. H’Lúk Byă of the Ede ethnic group in Mang Kung hamlet, Krong Bong district, is one of the beneficiaries of the initiative.

She said: “Moving into a new, sturdy home is a dream come true for my family of seven. We never imagined being able to build a proper house. Now, with this support, we no longer have to worry about leaks when it rains or unbearable heat in the summer. We are truly grateful to the Party and State for their care and assistance.”

Nguyen Hai Dong, Secretary of the Krong Buk district Party Committee, said the district will finish the construction or renovation of 141 homes by early May.

Dong said:  “We aim to complete all construction and repairs before July 15. Departments, businesses, and local authorities have been mobilized to accelerate progress ahead of the province’s deadline, aligning with the celebration of the August Revolution anniversary.”

With strong determination and the collective efforts of the entire political system in Dak Lak, sturdy new houses are rapidly replacing temporary shelters. This initiative not only improves living conditions for disadvantaged families but also strengthens public trust in Party and State policies and encourages communities to work toward a better future.
