International tourism events anticipated in Quang Ninh until year-end

(VOVWORLD) - Quang Ninh province is preparing for a series of cultural and sports events in the fourth quarter, aiming to welcome 20 million visitors in 2025, including 4.5 million international tourists.

Highlights will include the International Puppet and Circus Festival, the Ha Long Bay Heritage International Marathon, the Yen Tu Heritage Marathon, the Quang Ninh Culinary Festival, and the Northeastern OCOP Fair. In addition, the first National Travel Forum, to be held in mid-November, will provide networking and cooperation opportunities for hundreds of domestic and international travel agencies.

Nguyen The Hue, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Tourism Association, said: “We are working closely with the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to make thorough preparations. The Travel Forum will draw hundreds of travel companies at home and abroad. As the host, Quang Ninh will have a great opportunity to promote local tourism and give visitors a unique experience. I believe it will be extremely favorable for the development of local tourism industry.”

Since the beginning of the year, Quang Ninh, billed as the leading festival destination in northern Vietnam, has organized more than 100 cultural, sports, and tourism events. They include the Ha Long Carnival, the Skywave Music Festival, the Miss Sea Vietnam Global pageant, the Ha Long Bay Marathon, and International Yoga Day.

Nguyen Lam Nguyen, Deputy Director of Quang Ninh’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said: “These events will attract lots of tourists to our province. The provincial Tourism Association is going to launch promotion packages and special products to enhance the experience of visitors. The lighting system will be upgraded to give the province a distinctive atmosphere.”

In the past nine months, Quang Ninh welcomed 17.11 million visitors, up 9% year-on-year and achieving two-thirds of its annual plan. 3.25 million of them were international visitors, an increase of 25%, and total tourism revenue was approximately 163 million USD.
