Party leader Trong said the 13th National Party Congress adopted important documents and elected a Party Central Committee with 200 capable and virtuous members, representing over 5 million Party members, to shoulder tasks assigned by the Party and people.

Mr. Trong said the documents adopted at the Congress were based on theory and reality, rallying the intellect, will, and aspirations of the Party, people, and army. The documents summarize and assess the implementation of the 12th National Party Congress’s Resolution, review 35 years of renewal, 30 years of the 1991 Political Platform, 10 years of the 2011 Platform, the 2011-2020 Socio-economic Development Strategy, and set out orientations and tasks for socio-economic development in the 2021-2025 period, orientation goals to 2030, and a development vision to 2045.

The Party leader said the Congress showed the consensus and determination of the Party, the people, and the army to take action in the new period and resolutely implement the development goals set in the political report: to improve governance, leadership, and the Party’s fighting capability; and build a strong, pure Party and political system.
"We also aim to reinforce people’s trust in the Party, State, and socialism; rekindle a desire to build a prosperous, happy nation; promote the will and power of great national unity; consolidate the era’s advantages; speed up renewal and modernization; defend the nation; maintain a peaceful, stable environment; and strive to make Vietnam a socialist-oriented developed country by the middle of the 21st century,” said Mr. Trong.

Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong said the Congress discussed and adopted major orientations and decisions to achieve rapid and sustainable national development, construction, and defense. It confirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam is steadfast to Marxism and Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought. It has never stopped appropriately adapting and innovating to suit Vietnam’s situation in each period while holding firm to the goals of national independence and socialism, a prosperous people, a strong nation, democracy, equality, and civilization.

Mr. Trong said the Party must enhance rectification, guarantee a pure, strong political system, and further improve its leadership in policy-making and enforcement in line with Vietnam’s current reality and contemporary development trends.

He stressed that the Congress strictly followed Party regulations, and wisely elected qualified people to the 13th Party Central Committee.

“The Congress’s successes will inspire the Party, the people, and the army to surmount difficulties and challenges, take advantage of the situation to make Vietnam a socialist-oriented developed country with high incomes," said Mr. Trong.

"I ask Party Committees and organizations at all levels and all Party members to publicize the Congress’s results, study the Congress’s Resolution and documents, build action programs, launch national emulation movements, and encourage innovative minds to overcome all challenges and bring the Congress’s Resolution and decisions to fruition.”

Party leader Trong called on the Party, the Vietnamese people, and the army to raise high patriotism, self-reliance, and great national unity to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
