New school to offer modern, comfortable, safe learning environment for border children

(VOVWORLD) - The construction of the new Si Pa Phin Primary and Lower Secondary School began on Sunday in Si Pa Phin commune, Dien Bien province. It is the first of 100 schools planned for construction in 2025 under the Politburo’s new policy to build 248 integrated boarding schools in border communes across Vietnam by 2027.

The Si Pa Phin Primary and Lower Secondary School is a large, modern, well-equipped facility with 31 classrooms, dormitories, a multipurpose hall, a library, sports grounds, and a swimming pool. It will provide a comfortable, safe, friendly learning environment for 1,000 students from ethnic minority communities living along the border.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Party General Secretary To Lam highlighted the significance of the policy to build 248 integrated boarding schools, saying it reflects the Party and State’s commitment to improving the lives of people in remote, border, and disadvantaged areas.

The Party leader said: “We are building schools to provide better learning conditions for the children, but also to achieve a long-term goal of improving the quality of life for residents in border and disadvantaged areas. This effort contributes to safeguarding national sovereignty through the people. Each border province should aim to build one such school each year. This model will then be expanded to other localities.”

The Si Pa Phin project, scheduled for completion next year, has a total investment of 8.4 million USD, funded by Hanoi city and other social resources.
