Ho Chi Minh city has organized a 2-day meeting to thoroughly study the resolution, where more than 300 people agreed that the campaign reflects the municipal Party committee’s resolve to build a stronger Party. Nguyen Van Phung, President of the Ho Chi Minh City’s Farmers’ Association, says this campaign makes a difference: “As the Party General Secretary said, we should do the job though it’s difficult, showing the Party’s strong will. Previously, we exercised criticism and self-criticism every year. Now we undertake the urgent tasks of Party building, particularly 19 prohibitions, which will make the party grow. Party members will play a greater role in society and win more trust from the people, helping to enhance the party’s credibility.

Pham Ngoc Han, Deputy Director of the Municipal Department of Education and Training, told VOV: “The campaign to study the Party resolution is interesting. I am confident that each Party member, whatever position he or she holds, should reflect upon their own ideology and working methods. I am very glad that the top leader of the Party has understood the aspirations of the people and Party members. I am sure that the resolution will be well implemented.”

There are more than 340,000 Party members in Hanoi, accounting for one tenth of the total Party members in Vietnam. The city’s implementation of the Party Central Committee’s 4th plenum resolution will lead to positive changes throughout the nation. Le Xuan Truong, Secretary of Tu Liem district, said: “We will draw a plan to study the resolution, from key officials to every Party member. Attention should be paid to supervision work. We will launch a program for Party members to evaluate themselves, adhering to Party members’ standards and rules.”

Le Thanh Hai, Poliburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh city’s Party Committee, stressed the need to carry out the 8 tasks of Party building set out by the Communist Party of Vietnam’s 11th National Congress. He said party building should be done regularly: “The first of the 4 sets of guidelines initiated by the Politburo and the Party Central Committee includes criticism and self-criticism. Higher-ranking leaders should set examples for the lower-ranking officials to follow. Although this is a tough job, we believe that we will succeed.

Pham Quang Nghi, Poliburo member and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee, said the campaign to study the Party resolution is an important political practice, aimed at setting role models and eliminating eberance among Party members for a stronger and healthier party.
