(VOVWORLD) - Offshore wind power is opening a new chapter in Vietnam's renewable energy development, addressing rising electricity demands while fulfilling the country’s commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As a pioneering enterprise, PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) is asserting its global competitiveness by providing services for major international projects.

As a key technical service provider under PetroVietnam, PTSC is currently the leading and most capable company in Vietnam for offshore wind power development.
Building on PetroVietnam's strategic direction to diversify services beyond traditional core operations, PTSC is leveraging its extensive service ecosystem while adapting to global energy transition.
By investing in renewable energy, emerging energy technologies, and high-value services, PTSC is carving out a unique position as a world-class enterprise, elevating Vietnam’s brand on the global energy map.
PTSC’s commitment to renewable energy is exemplified by its successful international bid to supply 33 wind turbine foundations for Ørsted (Denmark)’s Greater Changhua 2b&4 (CHW2204) offshore wind farm. Located in Taiwan (China), the 920 MW project is one of the largest offshore wind farms in the Asia-Pacific region. By securing this major contract, PTSC has demonstrated its competitiveness regionally and globally.
This contract has transformed PTSC into a mass production company. The project, which has logged over 9 million safe work hours to date, showcases PTSC’s ability to meet stringent safety and quality standards while cementing its status on the global manufacturing map.

Beyond foundations, PTSC has proven its expertise as an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for offshore wind substations. Notable among these is the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm (Baltica OWF), one of the world’s largest offshore wind projects, located in the Baltic Sea off Poland. In partnership with Semco Maritime, PTSC M&C has been awarded the EPC contract for four offshore substation platforms and four module support frames.
Key components for the Baltica project will be fabricated at PTSC's Energy and Technical Services Center in Vung Tau, a key port and industrial hub in southern Vietnam. This marks the first time a Vietnamese company has exported offshore wind substations to Europe, the world’s leading offshore wind market, alongside the export of five other substations to the Asia-Pacific region. These achievements solidify PTSC’s role in the global offshore renewable energy supply chain.
PTSC’s success in securing major offshore renewable energy contracts supports Vietnam’s Power Development Plan VIII (2021–2030, with a vision to 2050). The company is playing a role in establishing a renewable energy industrial hub in Ba Ria-Vung Tau and the southeastern region, fostering a comprehensive offshore renewable energy ecosystem. This ecosystem integrates domestic enterprises into the supply chain, enhances design and manufacturing capabilities, increases the rate of local content, supports the development of offshore renewable energy projects in Vietnam, and promotes Vietnam’s engagement in the global supply chain.
