(VOVWORLD) - The National Assembly wrapped up its 6th session in Hanoi on Wednesday after 22 days.

Lawmakers adopted seven draft laws including the revised Law on Real Estate Business, the revised Law on Housing, the revised Law on Water Resources, the revised Law on Telecommunications, the Law on Management and Protection of National Defense Works and Military Zones, the Law on Forces participating in the protection of security and order at the grassroots, and the Law on Identification.

The revised Land Law and the revised Law on Credit Institutions were not passed at this session and will be further discussed for approval at the next National Assembly meeting.  

The National Assembly gave opinions to eight other bills and passed a a resolution on piloting some specific policies on investment in the construction of road infrastructure and transport facilities.

The National Assembly spent 2 and a half days for Q&A activities, getting votes of confidence for 44 positions elected or approved by the National Assembly. The National Assembly reviewed socio-economic issues, the State budget among other important issues.

Addressing the closing ceremony, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said the NA completed all the set agenda, affirming that the session was a great success, meeting practical requirements.

He noted that the NA acknowledges the determination, efforts, and close coordination of agencies of the National Assembly, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Supreme People's Court, and the People’s Supreme Procuracy, and relevant agencies and organizations for their thorough preparations for the meeting.

“As a result, although there were adjustments to the program, everything went smoothly and made the meeting program a great success with high consensus and unity,” according to Chairman Hue.

It is forecasted that in the coming time, the world economy will continue to undergo complicated and unpredictable developments.

Domestically, in addition to opportunities and advantages, Vietnam will also face many challenges, said Chairman Hue.

He insisted that 2024 is a pivotal year to successfully implement the tasks set for the entire term in line with the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress.

“It’s necessary to further prioritize promoting economic growth, maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, ensuring major balances of the economy, while solving difficulties and removing immediate obstacles closely following the goals and requirements for innovating growth models, restructuring the economy, improving the business investment environment, increasing productivity, quality, efficiency, competitiveness and internal capacity of the economy towards boosting strategic breakthroughs,” said Mr. Hue.
