(VOVworld) – Both ASEAN and Russia have agreed to designate 2016 the Year of Russian Culture in ASEAN and ASEAN Culture in Russia.The consensus was reached at the 13th Meeting of the ASEAN-Russia Joint Cooperation Committee (ARJCC) at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta on April 29.ASEAN and Russia reviewed the implementation of the Comprehensive Program of Action to Promote Cooperation for 2005-2015 (CPA), which will expire at the end of this year, and looked forward to the finalization of a new document which will further enhance cooperation for mutual benefit.They discussed developments in politics-security, economy, socio-culture, science and technology, and connectivity, and agreed that there is potential for greater collaboration.They also acknowledged the progress of their partnership and its achievements in preparation for the 20th Anniversary celebration of ASEAN-Russia Dialogue Relations next year.
