70th anniversary of Vietnam People’s Army celebrated at home, abroad

(VOVworld) – 300 photos, documents, and artifacts were on display Tuesday at an exhibition in Hanoi highlighting the development and achievements of the Vietnam People’s Army over the past 70 years. The exhibition at the Vietnam Military Museum is divided into 4 themes: support of the Party, State, and President Ho Chi Minh for the army; the army during the war against French colonialists from 1945 to 1954; the army during the war against American imperialists from 1954 to 1975; and the army’s contribution to national construction and defense.

On Tuesday, the Mekong Delta province of Tay Ninh hosted an exchange between local youth union members and others in the southern region. In Ho Chi Minh city, the Military High Command and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union co-sponsored an art performance honoring Vietnamese soldiers.

The same day, the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnam National Defence Attaché’s Office in India co-celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army. The celebration was attended by Indian military officers, researchers, reporters, foreign diplomats, and defense attaches.
