(VOVworld) – Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong today/ on Wednesday received 19 newly-appointed ambassadors and 6 Heads of Vietnamese representative offices, prior to beginning their terms overseas.

Mr. Trong stressed that the ambassadors and heads of representative offices need to promote their diplomatic activities based on the 3 pillars of economics, politics and culture and to educate other peoples about Vietnam’s land, culture and people. He also asked them to follow the policies and guidelines issued by the Party and State, and find out about the situation in other countries. Mr. Trong also asked the ambassadors and  representatives to show more concern for Vietnamese communities overseas to boost national unity. He added that they should do their best to fulfil their duties and promote friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and other countries to raise the country’s status in the international arena.
