Mung, who is also Head of the Provincial IUU Steering Committee, made the request in response to the Prime Minister’s directives. The An Giang provincial People's Committee is sending SMS messages regarding IUU prevention to mobile subscribers to increase awareness and disseminate the Fisheries Law, its implementation guidelines, and IUU regulations.

Task forces have been established to visit the homes of residents, vessel owners, captains, and crew members involved in fishing activities to advocate for and ensure strict compliance with IUU prevention regulations.

People’s self-management teams and security and order teams are coordinating with local police and border guard posts to organize community meetings. These efforts aim to ensure citizens understand and strictly adhere to IUU regulations, specifically emphasizing a total ban on fishing in foreign waters.
