Asia-Pacific – key region for Vietnam’s economic development
(VOVworld) - APEC is of great strategic importance to Vietnam at present and in the future, said Nguyen Nguyet Nga, Director General of the Multilateral Economic Cooperation Division under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the 22nd APEC Summit opened in Beijing, China on Wednesday.

Ms Nga said APEC offers Vietnam specific economic benefits including tariffs reduction tax, a 60% of domestic export turnover to regional countries, and direct imports of production materials from APEC economies. She added that APEC is Vietnam’s leading investor, accounting for 65% of its investment to Vietnam, while Vietnam’s major ODA resources are also from APEC members.
